About us
Pinnacle Chiropractic provides an inside-out approach to healthcare, problem-solving to address the root cause of a health issue rather than simply treating the symptoms present. We use a holistic range of Chiropractic techniques that restore nervous system functionality. Our approach to care enables your body to heal itself so that you can live an active lifestyle and operate at peak performance, free from pain and limitation.
Our Story
As a husband and wife team who are dedicated to bringing our passion for life, sport, activities and family to our work, we founded the Pinnacle Chiropractic clinic to bring a fresh and unique perspective to healthcare for the Beachlands, Maraetai, Whitford and Clevedon community.
When we started out in practice, we both moved to Nelson and took over a well-established Chiropractic Clinic where we practiced for several years before making the move back to Auckland to open Pinnacle Chiropractic. After Chelsey moved up to Auckland to get things started, lockdown hit and meant the practice opening was delayed, however we were able to open in January 2022 to make a great year even better.
For us, Pinnacle Chiropractic has been years in the making. It’s been the dream we finally get to bring to life. We have enjoyed the journey so far, and we are excited to continue the journey serving our community in the Pohutukawa Coast.
Our purpose is to challenge the role of traditional medicine and provide the Pohutukawa Coast community a fresh perspective and natural approach to healthcare that looks to the cause rather than the symptoms per se.
At the Pinnacle Chiropractic clinic, we want to bring change to people’s lives. We want to help reduce the everyday limitations preventing people from achieving their goals or living their lives to the fullest. We help to enable your body to heal itself and operate at your peak performance through using a holistic range of Chiropractic techniques all helping to restore nervous system functionality.
Pinnacle Chiropractic provides an inside out approach to healthcare, problem solving to address the root cause rather than simply treating the symptoms present. Chiropractic is built on the philosophy that the body is interconnected, with the spine housing and protecting the central nervous system. Tension, misalignment, or a subluxation of the spine can interfere with the flow of information along your nerves, which in turn can affect a variety of bodily functions, presenting as symptoms. Identifying and correcting vertebral subluxations can reduce symptoms and improve overall bodily function. Symptoms are treated as clues as to misalignments, with many patients reporting a reduction in aches, pains, and other symptoms with regular chiropractic adjustments.

Dr Wyatt Hancox
B.Chiro, Dip.App.Sci
Chiropractor
Born and raised in West Auckland, Wyatt grew up surrounded by the efforts of sports during his school years, playing rugby league and enjoying all sports alike. Wyatt propelled himself into an active lifestyle and instilled a passion for being on the field. He was first introduced to Chiropractic Care through his cousin, who is also a Chiropractor and practices in Australia. Wyatt recognised how crucial Chiropractic Care is for supporting an active lifestyle. Those early experiences not only helped him stay on the field but also sparked a genuine interest in understanding how the body works and how the right care can make such a meaningful difference. This eventually inspired Wyatt to pursue Chiropractic as a career, so he could help others experience the same benefits he did.
Outside of practice, Wyatt enjoys keeping active and connected with the things he loves. He’s a big rugby league fan, enjoys playing touch, and spending time at the gym. When he’s looking to relax, he likes jumping into video games, and he values spending quality time with his friends and whānau – something that keeps him grounded and balanced.
As a Chiropractor, Wyatt is committed to providing thoughtful, personalised care. He aims to empower people to move well, feel well, and live the active, healthy lifestyles that matter most to them.
our team
Nicky Mercer
RN, Dipcomnurs, pgdiphsc (acupuncture) PGdiphsc (Managed care), cert. kinesiologist
Acupuncturist and Registered Nurse
Supporting people when things feel complex, unresolved, or not quite adding up.
With over 20 years of clinical experience across nursing and acupuncture, Nicky brings a depth of insight that allows her to approach health concerns from both a medical and holistic perspective.
Her background in hospital nursing in New Zealand and New York, along with experience in occupational health and rehabilitation, has shaped her ability to work with more complex or ongoing presentations.
Nicky is often sought out by patients who feel stuck—those dealing with persistent symptoms, recurring issues, or situations where they haven’t yet found clear answers. Her approach focuses on stepping back, looking at the bigger picture, and understanding what the body is trying to do, rather than simply chasing symptoms.
She combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with kinesiology (muscle testing) to create highly individualised treatments. Her areas of interest include nervous system regulation, women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, and musculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on achieving meaningful, lasting change.
Nicky’s philosophy is that the body is never working against us—it is always adapting and doing its best. By understanding and supporting these processes, treatment becomes more effective and sustainable.
Patients often describe her as calm, perceptive, and easy to talk to. She creates a space where people feel heard, understood, and supported—particularly when their health journey has felt frustrating or unclear.
Outside the clinic, Nicky loves the beach and being in the water, and enjoys yoga, Pilates, gardening, and walking her small dog Rey. She lives locally with her husband and has two adult sons.
